I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

I’m also experienced, proven and ready to help.

I didn’t start my career as a counselor, I was called to it. I received my undergraduate degree at Mercer University in marketing and management. After 5 years in the marketing field, I realized my true passion was helping others and that I was meant to take on a new career path in life.

Becoming a counselor was the right choice.

It took a lot of work but it was worth it. I earned a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University. During an extensive internship at Ridgeview Institute, I worked with individuals suffering from various addictions and mental health disorders in their inpatient and outpatient programs. Shortly after completing my internship, I started working at MARR (addiction treatment center) and at DBT South as a DBT Therapist. I have completed formal training in DBT through Behavioral Tech. I am also formally trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy.

I’m committed to continuous learning.

After practicing behavioral therapy for several years, I researched other modalities that have scientific evidence. As a result, I became a certified Hypnotherapist. This modality is helpful with individuals struggling with anxiety, phobias, substance abuse, unwanted thoughts or behaviors.

I am also dedicated to staying current and growing as a professional. It means when you work with me, you’re working with a counselor who is up-to-date and committed to helping you reach your goals.

Is Hypnotherapy right for you?

Hypnosis, also referred to as hypnotherapy or hypnotic suggestion, is a trance-like state in which you have heightened focus and concentration. Hypnosis is usually done with the help of a therapist using verbal repetition and mental images. Hypnosis can be used to help you gain control over undesired behaviors or to help you cope better with anxiety or pain. It’s important to know that although you’re more open to suggestion during hypnosis, you don’t lose control over your behavior.

I am Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS).

I decided to do this because I wanted to help new clinicians develop and ensure they are practicing in an ethical manner while learning their own personal style.
